Walk off the Earth is a Canadian indie band formed in Burlington, Ontario. Founded in 2006, the video of their cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know became rapidly popular on Youtube, and received positive responses from both Gotye and his co-singer on the song, Kimbra. The video was performed by five musicians on a single guitar. They claimed they all used the same guitar because they only had one guitar at the time.On Saturday, January 7, 2012, actor Russell Crowe tweeted the band after seeing the video and pitched his catalogue to them. Artist Spotlight

Artist Showcase: Friday, May 24th, 2013 -Click HERE to Attend!

When we sat down with Justin Koop (owner/engineer at B Town Sound) we had talked extensively about wanting to capture the chemistry of the three of us playing in a room together. We wanted to get the energy of a live performance caught on tape. So we decided to set up in the main room in triangle formation with amps cranked and the p.a turned up full as we hashed out takes of each song. All the while this was being filmed. Later we’d listen back and pick the take we thought was best.

The recordings have really captured the sound of the band in a very honest and real way. How we played on that day in the studio is what you hear through the speakers. We’re very excited to be releasing recordings from The B Town Sound sessions on our first full length album, set to release summer 2013! www.ballroombabies.com
